[아, 생각난다]는 Now I remember라고 말한다. [아직도 기억하고
있습니다]는 진행의 뜻이지만 I'm still remembering이 아니고 I still
remember라고 말한다. remember는 진행의 뜻이 포함된 상태를 나타내는
동사이므로 진행형으로 쓸수가 없다. 큰 기쁨이나, 즐거움,
실망 등을 나타낼때 What a...! 감탄문을 쓴다. [너를 여기서 만나다니 참
반갑구나!]는 What a surprise to see you here! [그녀가 올수 없다니
유감이다!]는 What a pity she can't come!이라고 말한다.
You know what they say는 You know the saying...의 뜻. 여기서의 they는
일반적으로 해석하지 않는다. It's a small world는 미국인들이 잘쓰는 [세상
참 좁구나!]라는 뜻이다.
너를 볼때 마다 나의 엄마가 생각난다.
