Socrates was different from other teachers in Athens―and almost everywhere
else―for he never charged any person for his teaching. This kept him poor.
His clothes were often shabby, and so were those of his wife. He cared
nothing for this; but she did and it is said that she often scolded
Socrates because he did nothing to make money, but idled away his time
in talking.

신경을 쓰지 않았지만 그녀는 신경을 썼기 때문에 늘 소크라테스를 꾸짖었다.
돈은 벌지 않고 이야기만 하면서 시간을 보냈기 때문이었다.
