Two of the world's major currencies, the dollar and the euro, are now
worth nearly the same amount, and the third, the Japanese yen, happens to
be in alignment with both. It's easy to remember: one dollar equals about
one euro equals about 100 yen.
세계 주요통화인 달러화와 유로화의 가치가 현재 거의 1대1의 같은 가격를
유지하고 있고 제 3의 통화인 일본 엔화도 이들 두 통화와 대등한 수준에

This cozy convergence doesn't mean all three currencies are actually
worth the same in terms of the near-equivalence of the dollar, euro and
100 yen is a curious accident produced by currency markets.
이처럼 사이 좋아 보이는 등가화 현상은 3개 통화가 실제도 똑같은 가치를
가진다는 의미는 아니다. 오히려 이 현상은 통화시장에서 생긴 재미난 우연의
일치로 보는 게 옳다.
