◆ close 와 shut 의 차이
close 는 보통 열린 것을 닫는다는 뜻으로 쓰이는 단어입니다.
shut 은 close 보다 일반적이며, 강한 뜻을 지니고 닫아 버리거나, 막아버림,
즉 들이지 않거나 내 보내지 않는 행위의 뜻이 있습니다. 문뚜껑 빗장 따위를
밀거나 당기는 동작을 암시하기도 합니다.
close a door : 단순히 문이 열려 있지 않은 상태로 하다
shut a door : 당기거나 밀고 잠그는 행위를 암시하여 문을 제대로 닫다
close one's eyes : 단순히 눈을 감다
shut one's eyes : 눈을 감고 자기의 눈에 보이지 않도록 하다
